Did you know Australia Has It’s Own Burger?
We did, and it’s the The Invincible Aussie burger! Yeah, nah, how Aussie is this lamb-burger with egg and beetroot mate?
The hamburger is not native to Australia, so Australia can certainly make their own. Let’s think about it for a moment first. To begin with, there’s no ham in it, so let’s drop the “hamburger” theme.
What’s Inside the Invincible Aussie Burger?
This burger is made from 100% Aussie lamb. so we’ll call it a burger. This is our version of an Aussie burger, but there are many more by many other people. You have to start somewhere right? The Aussie burger usually includes beetroot which you will be pushed to find it anywhere else. There’s also a slice of “real” cheese, not that plastic stuff. Aussie burgers have usually got a toasted bun, and there’s egg, onion, lettuce, along with a good squirt of tomato sauce.
The Lamb Patty is SO Simple!
The patty is absolutely simple. Simply use salt and pepper to season minced lamb. There’s nothing more to it than that. Some people might add bread crumbs as a filler to pad out the burger. We prefer not in this case, just keep it plain and simple. This way, the real taste can shine though. Adding breadcrumbs to the burger can lead to undercooking. This is because breadcrumbs cook faster than meat. There’s nothing worse than a burnt outside and a raw middle in a burger. That’s a burger disaster! If you’re careful though, you can do it that way if you prefer!
Thinking of Making it Yourself?
Don’t let the amount of ingredients intimidate you. First, print out the recipe and tick off all the things you already have. Then you will have a small and convenient list to take to the store. Preparation saves time. It’s difficult to resist marching ahead quickly, but getting all your ducks in order helps a lot. Even if it’s chicken you’re cooking.
